Sun, sand, sea & safari in KwaZulu Natal

Before going there I didn’t really know a lot about KwaZulu Natal. I’d heard of it. Of course I had. It was the location of a very famous and very bloody battle between the British Army, Boer commandos and Zulu warriors. But I’d always written if off as place just for history and war buffs. But I have to admit when I finally visited I was more than pleasantly surprised by what I found.

Something for the weekend - Málaga

Málaga is a revelation. For years I’d just viewed it as an airport with an unremarkable city on its outskirts. But having visited recently with Julian, I am glad to report that the city is so much more.

As one of the oldest cities in the world, Málaga has been occupied at various points through its history by the Phoenicians, the Romans and the Arabs, all of whom left their mark on the city giving it some rather lovely architecture and design.

Whizzing over the Okavango Delta in a helicopter with the doors off is a truly memorable experience: Flying low over elephants drinking in clear lagoons and Sitalunga leaping over the reeds, the landscape a patchwork of emerald greens and vibrant blues.
