A New Found Paradise on the Equator

When people asked me where I was going on my holidays this year and I responded with São Tomé and Príncipe, they looked at my blankly. No-one seemed to know where or what it was. And it was exactly for that reason Julian and I decided to visit. There’s something quite exciting about travelling to a place a little off the radar. After all, if people haven’t heard of it, then it’s unlikely there will be many tourists.

Travel Beyond the Ordinary

Every year I attend a remarkable invitation only travel show in Marrakech.  It’s where I go to meet with some of the hotels and ground partners I currently work with abroad.  But more importantly, it’s where I go to find out about new immersive and experiential travel experiences.  And, as usual, I returned back to Manchester with a bag full of business cards and a head spinning with lots of new ideas.

Postcards from Montenegro

Byron once described Montenegro as “the most beautiful meeting of land and sea”. And, as I came in to land at Tivat Airport, I could see why. Beneath me were lush lofty mountains that cascaded down to the emerald green of the Adriatic Sea with smears of white beach in between.

Something for the weekend - Beirut

Tell people you are heading to Beirut for the weekend and they look at you curiously - “is it safe?” In many people’s minds Beirut is still a bombed-out, war torn city but all that ended in 2005 when the Syrian Army left (the war ended in 1990) and Lebanon is enjoying a period of peace and prosperity and returning to its former glory.
